Telegram from the Queen

In the month of August, the Queen will celebrate her 80th birthday. Since 1917, birthday messages had been sent out by the Royal Household on a regular basis to centenarians. Last year, 4623 messages were sent.

Special birthday greetings

Occasionally, messages
have been sent to well-known or unusual recipients, perhaps the most
famous of which was Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother, who received an
official 100th birthday greeting from her daughter in 2000. Comedian
Bob Hope received a private message from The Queen on his 100th
birthday in 2003 whilst the former ballerina Dame Ninette de Valois
received a message wishing her ‘a very happy day’ in June 1998.

August is the Bubble of Birthday Season

Over a 10-year average, August is the No.1 most people are born. July and August are the top two months. It is easy to find out the reason behind. Just count back 9 months  — to November and December. Happy Thanksgiving and Merry Christmas! That is the seasons when people are more relaxed, and have sex the most often.

This is known as the “mistletoe effect”, which points to the holidays. Writing in The Journal of the Royal Society of Medicine, University of London sexual health professor Kaye Wellings says,

“People tend to drink more during this time and “the link between
drinking and unsafe sex . . . is well documented,”

Get message ideas from Uncooked!

Marvo wrote a review about Uncooked, an online store selling all sort of greeting cards. Their design are normal graphically, but extremely creative on the printed messages. If you don’t know what to write on greeting card, pay them a visit. You will find great ideas by browsing through their cards design.

For full review by Marvo, refer Uncooked

Here is the summary of his review:

Item: Uncooked
Price: $3.25 per card
Purchased at: Uncookedland.com
Rating: 4 out of 5
Pros: Twisted funny cards. Free envelope. Cards for almost all occasions. The day I get to burn my box of “Stuff to Burn Later.” Auto-reverse cassette player technology.
Cons: Expensive for tightwads, but cheap for those who truly care about the card’s recipient and think money is trivial in terms of showing how much they care. Having to pay for shipping. Lack of capitalization. Nauseating, overly-poetic, badly-written greeting cards.
